Slack is big on keeping things separate and making sure that everything stays where it belongs. Yes, we would recommend Slack to people who love to stay organized.
It’s a convenient way to contact one or many people quickly and keep your own tasks organized as well. Slack is fun, relatively simple to understand software that really helps cut down on confusion and miscommunication amongst team members.
Both also offer more functions or expansions to current functions for a price, like sending more than the 10, messages that you’re limited to on Slack, with Slack’s options being a little more expensive depending on how much you can see yourself using it. You’re able to send text messages through both applications, but to send voice messages on Slack you’ll have to go through another integrated app. Slack does have many of the same functions of Discord, another communication platform that is targeted toward the gaming community. Slack is heavily based on communication, so if you’re looking for more of a program that will let you create documents with limited options to communicate, Google Docs and other Google Drive programs might be for you. You can access Slack on Apple Watches, although functions are limited to basic messaging. Other awesome functions include setting reminders: don’t show up late to that meeting! Slack is available on the web and in app form for Windows and Mac, and also for iOS and Android mobile devices. You can auto-post tweets to a channel, and when a tweet is posted you’ll see the full tweet along with any media attachments. The same goes for social media apps like Twitter. If your company has existing Trello boards, you can add cards directly to Slack without having to switch tabs.
As for integration, you can install outside apps to use within Slack. If you just want a private conversation to exist between you and another user, you can send them a direct message. To make sure, you can select a specific member’s user name and they will get an alert. If you send a message in a channel, everyone in the channel will see it.
